Fall Beauty Wishlist 2015

Hey beauties, I decided I'd show you a few makeup & skincare items I've been lusting over for fall and Winter. Some of these may take a while to get but Christmas is coming up, so you never know!  Let's get into it :)

maximize for greater detail!

1. Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick in 09 "Caress Pink" I've been lusting after YSL lipsticks for so long but right now I can not justify paying 34 dollars for a lipstick, I do think it would make a great birthday or Christmas present for any makeup loving girl! For fall I have my eyes on Caress Pink, it's a gorgeous sort of muted pink with a hint of raspberry and it swatches so beautifully opaque! Go swatch it in Sephora and see what I mean, it may quickly make it on to your wishlist too!

2. Nars Blush in "Sin" I've been eying Sin for a whiiiile now, but again I can't justify the price currently. This blush is a great wearable berry tone with golden shimmer. The perfect fall flush, if you will. This or Albatross will most definitely be my first Nars purchase. Plus, I've searched for a dupe of Sin and can never come up with anything so this blush may be one of a kind and therefore worth the money :)

3. Mac Pro Longwear Concealer This concealer is all the rage on Youtube and the beauty blogging community and it's obvious to see why. The formula is super long wearing and has some sort of technology to where it does not settle into fine lines and wrinkles, which makes it GREAT for under eyes. I want it so badly and Fall/Winter is the perfect to wear a more full coverage look, plus I've heard a little goes a looong way so it will last a long time!

4. Peter Thomas Roth Peeling Gel Exfoliant I have to admit I have never been very interested in high end skincare but am starting to develop an interest a few items and this is number 1 on the list! This exfoliater is a gel formula that actually peels off the dead skin cells right in front of your eyes, which I find ideal because you can tell it's working! Look up reviews and demos if your interested, it's super neat and unique and if you're like me you have to exfoliate especially in the Fall & Winter months.

5. Revlon Lipstick "Cherries in the Snow" This lipstick is simply gorgeous, I read somewhere the color has been around since the 1950's and makes even more perfect and lady like. I've put off buying this even though it's inexpensive because I'm not sure how much I'd wear it but I know I really want to, haha. It's a bright, raspberry pink and I know it would look great with just foundation and tons of lashes. Do you ladies have any tips for making a bright lipstick more wearable?

6. Mac Eyeshadow in "Coppering" If you don't already own this shade google swatches of Coppering and see if it instantly doesn't make it on your wishlist. It's a shimmery rusty orange bronze color that's simply incredibly beautiful, I. must. own. it. haha It's also not a common color you see often! I think it would be great smudged under the lower lash line or in the middle of the lip, it's a must have!

7. Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion I read somewhere that a bottle of this is sold about every 10 seconds, which I find completely insane. It's been around forever and it's seems to be a staple for a lot of women and my {normal to dry} skin is always looking for a good moisturizer! It's suppose to quench skin's thirst and I love that it has a pump applicator!

While that does it for my Fall beauty wishlist! What do you ladies have on current wishlists? I'd love to know in a comment below, as always thanks for reading and subscribing! I love my lovely readers & will be having a giveaway in the next month so be on the look out for that :)

Until next time,
Leah xo

Get Kylie Jenner's lip look for UNDER 2 dollars!?

I know everyone and their brother has been doing blogs and tutorials on Kylie's makeup for the last month or so BUT in true hug, kiss, makeup fashion I wanted to bring you how to get Kylie's lipstick look as cheap as humanly possible (and all while still being a great dupe!) sound good? GREAT, let's get into it!

So what product under 2 dollars can provide the Kylie's nude/mauvey/browny perfection you ask? Easy, Jordana's Lip Liner in "Rock n Rose" it is perfect on so many levels! It's a lip liner so you can line your lips and you can choose to over line them (the way Kylie does) if you'd like. It's matte, long wearing and it's so incredibly cheap!

Swatch appears a bit more brown than it appears in person

You can purchase Rock n' Rose liner at Walgreens, Kmart and Amazon where it retails for just $1.99. Also, just a side note I recommend the entire range of Jordana liners they're long wearing, pigmented and simply amazing for the price point.

This swatch is more accurate! Photo cred: here.

What do you think? I think it's the perfect nude/dusty color and if you can't stand the thought of it being totally matte you can always add lipstick (I recommend Loreal's fairest nude) or even a gloss.

Thanks so much for reading and as always please share and subscribe!

Love, Leah

My favorite Wet n Wild ONE dollar lipsticks!

Hey beauties! Sorry I've been a little MIA for the past week, I started a full time job recently {I'll talk more about it in my Friday post} the hours have been quite the adjustment but so far I'm loving it especially since it's in the Makeup industry! Anyway, I wanted to share with you my favorite Wet n Wild dollar lipsticks ...yes that's right dollar lipsticks! Not to mention sometimes Rite Aid & Walgreens have Wet n Wild 30-40% off, so sometimes you can get them for as little as 60 cents and THAT my lovelies is a bargain! So, let's get into it :)

Maximize for MUCH more detail! L to R: no flash & artificial light, with flash, no flash & natural light
L to R: Blushing Bali, Cherry Frost, Copper Dust, Dark Wine
*Note all of these lipsticks are a glossy, creme finish.

1. 545 A Blushing Bali This obviously the tamest color of the bunch and I think it would be appropriate for all seasons, but if you're of a natural girl you need this color! It's a great nudey peach color, it totally reminds me of Mac's Ravishing but I can't for sure say that they're dupes or anything because I don't own Ravishing. If you want a easy, no fuss shade and can't get enough of peach/natural corals definitely pick this up!

2. 514 A Cherry Frost This color is a beautiful, pretty unique red hue, in the pictures it shows up as a kind of standard retro red but it actually has great raspberry tones in it in person. It's kind of like if a red and hot pink got together and had a baby. Also *DUPE ALERT* it's an absolute dupe for the limited edition Mac lipstick "Ronnie Red" {from the Archie girls collection} see the comparison here! And honestly what's better than a Mac dupe for a dollar? Even if it's a color you may rarely use it's still very much worth the money!

3. 529 B Copper Dust The name to this gorgeous shade is pretty actually it coppery, rusty color with strong pink tones as well. It's pretty unique shade and I don't own anything like it. Because of the glossy, creme finish it's great almost iridescence and it can look slightly different in natural vs. artificial light. If you are scared of orange toned lipsticks try this... because it's mainly pink with a hint of copper it's a prefect way to ease into bolder colors!

4. 522 A Dark Wine Talk about the perfect fall/winter lipstick shade! This is the quintessential wine/plum shade it's so pretty and I think it would be flattering on a variety of skin tones. What's great about the creme formula is that if you are hesitant to wear a darker shade like this you can apply it very lightly or apply a lighter shade over top of it to get a more natural or wearable look! Plus if you don't think you'll wear it much, but still want a plum or wine shade in your collection this one is a winner since it won't break the bank!

Well there you have it my favorite Wet n Wild dollar lipsticks! Do you have any dollar lipsticks you love? leave me a comment and let me know. If you take anything away from this post remember just because it's cheap doesn't mean it doesn't perform well and Wet n Wild is a prime example of that! Until next my beauties, take care.

5 Lipsticks to help you transition into Fall!

Hey beauties! I hope your week is going well AND that you are looking forward to having a fabulous weekend! Today I am bringing you 5 lip colors that are PERFECT for transitioning into Fall, they're not too bold or too summery ...they are just right! Plus all of them are from the drugstore and 2 are only a one dollar! So let's dive in!

L to R: Wet n Wild Wine Room, Revlon Rosewine, NYC Sheer Red, e.l.f. classy, Maybelline bit of berry

{maximize for more detail} Top picture: natural light. Bottom picture: with flash

1. Wet n Wild "Wine Room" This shade is great mix of pinky, berry tones with a hint of red. The formula is a matte finish and is super opaque with just a swipe! Since it's matte it's super long lasting {especially for a drugstore formula} without being overly drying. This is a beautiful shade and I think it would be very flattering on a variety of skin tones! Price: $2

2. Revlon's "Rosewine" If you're intimidated by red lipstick this is a great color to ease your way into reds! It's a softer, more brick or tomato color! It's Revlon's super lustrous creme finish, so it will give you the perfect amount of shine without having to add a gloss! Try this for a "no fuss" way to rock a red lip! Price: $5-7

3. NYC's "Sheer Red" This lipstick is exactly like it's name... a sheer darkened red color! {for your reference the swatch above is 2 coats} I'd like to think this lipstick is kind of like a marriage between a Revlon lip butter and a lipstick: it's creamy and buttery but also has great color! This again, is a great way to wear red if you are just starting out with bold colors or just want a sheer wash of color! Price: $1

4. e.l.f.'s "Classy" I like to think of this shade as a great drugstore alternative to Mac's "Up the Amp" it's a mix of pink and purple tones, but it's still very wearable {more wearable than up the amp IMO!} I don't think I could pull off up the amp, but I do think this lipstick is very flattering for having purple tones! If you're all about baby pink lips, try this out for a hint of pink, with darker tones for fall! :) Price: $1

5. Maybelline's "Bit of Berry" If you just can't wait to rock a plum/berry toned lip, this lipstick is for you! Bit of berry is a super wearable berry shade which darkens the lips without being too much. Think of it as a darken version of your favorite pink! Again, a great tone to ease yourself into wearing berrys and plums! P.S. I just swatched this beside Mac's Craving and it's a dead on dupe! 5 dollar Mac dupe, score! Price: $5-7

There you have it, what do you think of my color choices? Do you have any lipstick recommendations that are perfect to ease into the Fall season? Please, share in a comment below! Until next time!

H54F: Cosmetic Job Interview, Mac Dupe & more!

Hello beauties! I hope everyone had a good week and is looking forward to a fabulous weekend, this is my 2nd installment of high five for Friday {H54F} which, if you don't what that is, a lovely blogger by the name of Lauren Elizabeth recaps her week and encourages others to do the same! It's quite fun... plus I had some beauty related things happen to me throughout the week, so let's get started! :)

Wednesday I got a called from my dream beauty & retail job... Sephora! Wanting to know if I had time to interview on Thursday, uh... of course! I've been trying to score an interview there for months, so to say I was excited was an understatement! So I took pictures of the eye makeup I wore to the interview because I was really happy with the way it came out! I stuck to neutral eyes because I didn't want to be too over the top since it was an interview, but still wanted to show off some skill level! Haha

No edits/no filter

My shadows appeared slightly darker/more smokey in person, just an FYI. I was super happy with the way it came out and I was really impressed with the false lashes I used, they are pretty natural and looked great!

How to get the look:
[Maximize for more detail!} L to R: Wet n Wild Vanity Palette, Wet n Wild "walking on eggshells", Mac's naked pigment

1. First I used middle shade on the left side of  Wet n Wild's Vanity palette  it is a light brown matte shade and I applied this in my crease, I know a lot of people do their lid color first but I've found I can blend things out easier and get a better effect if I apply my crease color first {I can always add to it along the way if I want} it's just what works for my slightly hooded eyes!

2. Next I applied the eyelid shade of Wet n Wild's walking on eggshells trio {on sale right now at Walgreens for 2 dollars!} to my eyelid, this is a gorgeous slightly pink champagne shade a supposed dupe for Mac's Naked Lunch I believe!

3. I then went back to the Vanity Palette and applied the dark matte brown shade on the bottom left to the outer v of my crease and outer lid as well.

4. I then took Mac's Naked pigment on a slightly damp flat shader brush and applied this just to the center of my lid to add some extra sparkle and dimension, I HIGHLY recommend doing this, it really brightens and opens up the eye. A good drugstore alternative to this I think would be L'Oreal eyeshadow in Iced Latte.

5. Next I popped a little bit of the matte cream shade in the Vanity palette right below my eyebrow for a highlight, then I couldn't help but to put a tiny bit of the naked pigment there as well!

6. I then used Jordana's Metal Rocks Eyeliner in "Purple Prism" on the outer half of my bottom lash line, the color is more of a dusty plum with slight shimmer. It's so pretty and extremely long lasting {12+ hours without coming out or smudging!} It's one of my absolute favorite pencil eyeliners and it's 3 dollars!

7. Then I used my Revlon Precision Lash Glue {which is great because it has a tiny brush to brush the glue directly ON the lashes!} waited 30 seconds for the glue to get tacky and applied Modlash Andrea 21 false eyelashes with little to no problem! These lashes are great if you are looking for something more natural or you have smaller set/slight hooded eyes because they do not over power or eye or hide all the work you put into your eyeshadow!

What do you ladies think!? The lashes gave me an extra boost of confidence since I rarely wear them, but if I get the Sephora it would be the perfect opperunity to wear them regularly! Btw, I think the interview went really well, the manager I interview with was super nice and friendly, so cross your fingers for me! :)

Mac Lipstick Dupe!:

I accidentally discovered a Mac lipstick dupe yesterday, I swatched Milani's Plumrose and instantly thought of  Mac's Craving sure enough when I compared them side by side they're pretty much identical! I know the Milani shade looks a bit lighter in the picture, but trust me it's just the lighting! This is the perfect berry, plum shade for fall I'm so glad to of found a cheaper dupe!
Mac swatch on top, Milani on the bottom

That about wraps it up ladies, I hope all of you have a super stellar weekend! Please let me know what your think of my interview makeup look in a comment! Until next time,

Rimmel Show off: First Impression!

So as most of you beauties may know the UK based Rimmel apocalips lip lacquers have made there way over seas (as well as had a name changed) and landed in the US! I somehow did not know much about these before starting to see beautiful swatches on some of my favorite blogs/youtube channels, right away I was so impressed with how pigmented they seemed and decided I MUST get my hands on some!

Amazingly- my sweet future sister-in-law surprised me with the 2 I had be lusting over the most and made my whole day!
Left: Luna, Right: Celestial
Left: Luna, Right: Celestial

Gorgeous aren't they!?
Luna- matte light peach, light coral (my new OBSESSION!)
Celestial- mauvy, dusty rose pink

And -hold on to your compact!- they are just as pigmented as they look! ...

With flash.
Natural light, no flash.
I can say these are FOR SURE the best lipstick/lip gloss hybrid I have ever tried! Usually, in my experience, extremely pigmented liquid lipsticks are drying or very uncomfortable on the lips. I found these to be extremely comfortable on the lips AND non-sticky, it truly is the best of both worlds! For me these last a considerable amount of time (around 4 hours). They also seem to leave a light stained affected, in a flattering way!

Where to buy: So far they seem to be limited to Wal-greens and are 4.99

Over all I think these are great and beautiful! I want more colors, they're all so pretty! Have you picked up any shades? Have any color recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time my beauties! Please share, comment and subscribe!

For the love of lipstick!: Summer edition

Everyone girl knows the old saying "Can't leave the house without your lipstick" or has heard a women proclaim, "I feel naked without lipstick!" Either way, lipstick is like a woman's best friend. A little dose of awesome to slightly brighten your day. I don't know exactly what it is about those dainty little tubes but I do know they are so pretty and cute... and of course fun to collect! This brings me to Summer, even during summer when you have scaled back your fall and winter makeup routine, lipstick can be the perfect pick me up to dress up your look or just make you feel more put together!

I want to share with you guys lipsticks I love and reach for regularly and some decent shade ranges when it comes to color, and summer is a great season to do so! Let's get to it.
stay tuned for swatches (which show the real color more accurately!) :)
1. Rimmel lasting finish by Kate lipstick in color 109
2. Wet n' Wild matte lipstick in l 903c Just Peachy
3. ELF essential lipstick in 7710 Flirtatious
4. Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in 415 Pink in the afternoon
5. Rimmel lasting finish by Kate lipstick in 101

1. Rimmel's Kate # 109: I wanted to take an individual shot of this shade because it's showing up more red in most of the pictures and it really is a great hot, darken coral... I've never seen any lipstick like it, including anything high end.

this shows the color a lot more accurate!

If you are a coral/peach fan you have to have this lipstick in your life! It's a gorgeous matte finish but it isn't drying or uncomfortable on your lips and like I said I haven't seen anything like it before so it's definitely worth picking up! Cost: around 5 dollars

2. Wet n' Wild's Just Peachy:  This is a great, creamy light peach shade! It's amazingly pigmented and one of the only true peach shades I own! It's also a matte finish but if you're not a huge fan of matte lipsticks, you could always put a nude/coral gloss over it, that would be beautiful! Cost: 2.99

3. Elf's Flirtatious: This color reminds me of a "barbie doll pink" without being frosty (ew.) or too "bubble gum". Its a creamy vibrant, hot pink and it's PERFECT for summer! It's got a nice scent and great color pay off! Cost: 1 dollar (!!!)

4. Revlon's Pink in the afternoon: This is one of my all time favorite lip colors its the perfect blend between mauvey pink and vibrant pink, it meets in the middle to make a wearable, everyday pink for any season! It's very comfortable on the lips & pretty long wearing. So flattering color and I believe it would be great for most skin tones! Cost: $5-8 Find out more of my favorite Revlon lip colors & the cheapest place to buy them!

5. Rimmel's Kate in 101: This is my go to cool toned pink, it's also got a hint of mauve that makes it very wearable and not too light for my complexion (nudes and really light pinks tend to wash me out) This is a staple pink to have in your collection {it is also a suppose dupe for Mac's please me, score!}

If you're not completely sold, here are the swatches in natural light!

Hope you ladies in enjoyed this post! I hope I have inspired you to run out and get one or a few of these shades for the season! Please let me know in the comments below what your Summertime lipstick staples are? I'm always interested in buying more! haha

The best [unexpected] places to buy beauty products!

A little about me: I feel like I was bred to be a bargain hunter. My grandma is an amazing one and since I was very little she taught me the best places to find awesome clearance deals and insane markdowns. BUT, as I got older I developed a love/passion/obsession with makeup [that my grandma doesn't share- though she will NOT leave the house without lipstick :)] So I took a bit of what she taught me and learned some tricks on my own when it comes to finding beauty bargains. I think a lot of people would be surprised where to hunt down beauty bargains so I thought I'd compile a small list and give you some tips & tricks on how to find good, name brand makeup ...for CHEAP!

[in no particular order, though the last store is my favorite for finds!]

Dollar Tree:
I could talk and talk about how much I love the dollar tree  -I'll spare you-  BUT if you don't frequent this place, you should. BTW, if you're unfamiliar everything is a one dollar, everything. Regarding beauty, it is hit or miss as far as name brand stuff is concerned. They usually have LA Colors and random stuff, which is okay. But once and while you'll be strolling down the beauty aisle and... BAM! you see Milani, or ELF, or Maybelline!

I just recently got these gems (which helped to inspire this whole post):

3 Milani HD advanced lip colors and 2 Milani eyeliners

I always get so giddy when I see name brand stuff and I look through alllllll of it which brings me to tip 1: look through everything, you may not initially see "the hidden gem(s)" make sure to scan the entire beauty section (no matter what store you're at) and when things are hanging up look to the back of each peg, making sure not to miss anything.

With the Milani lipsticks pictured above I almost missed the color I ended up liking the most because as I was looking through I noticed it was only really 2 different colors available (which I had already put in my basket, of course) and after filing through about 10 or 15 I moved on to the eyeliner but before I left the aisle I thought I should look through all the lipsticks just to make sure they weren't anymore shades and with a little more digging I found a beautiful berry shade, which is now my favorite!

T.J. MAXX/Marshall's:

Most ladies probably are aware by now of the almighty bargain that is TJ MAXX & Marshall's, both are one of my favorite places to shop, and if you're not checking their hair/beauty/skin care section, you must!

This is the absolute BEST place that I've found to buy high end hair care products. I've seen practically ever name brand there from Bedhead to Joico, and it's at least half off. I have also found some AWESOME makeup including the balm, OPI, and Urban Decay! It is also a great place to get quality makeup tools like [dupe] beauty blender sponges, eyelash curlers and sometimes brushes. It can be hit or miss but 9 times out of 10 I usually find at least one thing I don't need can't live without.

Rite Aid:

Confession: I try to avoid any drugstore like the plague, I do so because when I go in I practically drool over all the makeup... then scoff at there ridiculous mark-up of prices (compared to Target or Walmart). The exception to that is Rite Aid, in my experience they have some GREAT sales, more so than CVS or even Walgreens. tip 2: sign up for store's email, then you'll know about the latest shipments and sales. I include this tip under Rite aid  because they send you coupons once a week or so [it's the only place I will buy Essie nail polish because once and a while I'll get a 2 dollar off coupon in my email!]

Not to mention they're sales are phenomenal! They don't just do the typical "buy one, get one half off" other stores do, they have real clearance and sometimes they'll have ALL of NYC cosmetics 40% off or ALL of Rimmel. That's when I rack up, I got my favorite/holy grail bronzer (Sunny by NYC, more about that bronzer here) for a $.140, at that price if you already know you love it, get 2 or 3 back ups! Last time I went they had all of they're older stock of Wet n' Wild 75% off...

I got 3 loose powder blushes (which I intend to press- so I'll use them more) for ONE DOLLAR EACH and the mascara was no more than 2 dollars. A trend I've noticed with Rite Aid is that they aren't afraid to markdown "older" cosmetics when new collections come in and they don't have room on their displays... and that is alright with me!

Big Lots:

My all time favorite! Why you may ask? Because 99% of the time there is always something worth buying and their prices are absolutely fantastic, on everything (not just makeup). I have to brag for a minute and share the best, most high end brand I've found at Big Lots...

Philosophy: 2 eyeshadow quads, highlighter, 2 cream blushes
That's right Philosophy makeup! These products we're 3 dollars each, I definitely got back ups and even sold a few for a profit, haha. It just goes to show you can find great items by shopping discount places and always having your eyes peeled.

I just went to Big Lots yesterday so I took a few pictures to show you the typical lay out and to give you a few more tips and tricks.

Jackpot of Drugstore goodies!
Just in this one picture you can see there's Revlon, Sally Hansen, Maybelline, Covergirl etc. Most of the items will be hanging by hooks, so remember like I mentioned in when talking about the Dollar Tree make sure to look through the hooks so you don't miss anything.

Tips for Big Lots:

Make sure not to miss anything, as I was looking through all the crap at the top of the picture, I spotted this tiny box at the very bottom filled with revlon eyeshadows, concealers and l'oreal nail polish . I don't know why but (in my experience) Big Lots is NOTORIOUS for doing this, so check every inch of the aisle to maximize potential of finding something great!

Display of Physicians Formula on the end of  an aisle
Also don't forget to check the end of the aisle or (as we call it in the retail world) end cap! At Big Lots this is usually where their new arrivals are displayed OR where great name brands are [this is where I found the Philosophy stuff!] Also worth noting, you can usually find great hair care, personal hygiene stuff and sometimes skin care at Big Lots!

Well, that wraps it up my beauties! I really hope you enjoyed the list and I hope you learned a thing or two about where to shop for beauty bargains and HOW to shop for them!

As always please comment, share and subscribe!
